Objective To analyze the current research status, hot spots, and development trends of the arterial baroreflex in the past year and provide ideas and references for research in this field. Methods Bibliometrix software was used to quantitatively and visually analyze the documents related to baroreflex in the Web of Science database from 2011 to 2020 in terms of the number of publications, the publication period, the publication country, and the publication organization, the keywords, and the frequency of literature citations. Results A total of 829 documents were detected from 2011 to 2020. In the past ten years, the number of articles published in this field has been stable, and the annual number of articles published has remained at around 80. The most published journals are AM J PHYSIOL-REG I, AM J PHYSIOL-HEART C, and FRONT PHYSIOL. The leading publishing institutions are the University of Sao Paulo, the University of Milan, and Japan's National Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Center. The top 5 countries in terms of publication volume are the United States, Brazil, Japan, Italy, and China. The most frequent keywords are blood pressure, sensitivity, heart rate variability, heart rate, etc. Conclusion The quality of the literature on stress perception needs to be further improved. Baroreflex Activation Therapy for the treatment of refractory hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases is still a hot and challenging point of research in this field, and we should continue to strengthen investment in this research.
