Objective To conduct a visualized analysis on literature related to sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i) intervening heart failure (HF), and discuss the progress and hotpots in this research field. Methods The database of Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) was retrieved, then the retrieved data related to SGLT2i intervening HF was imported into Cite Space software for drawing knowledge graph, and authors, institutions, countries and keywords were given a visualized analyzed. Results The quantity of literature related to SGLT2i intervening HF began to show a upward trend year by year since 2016. Silvio E Inzucchi, Subodh Verma and Darren K Mcguire were top authors in issued paper quantity. The top countries were the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. The top institutions were University of Toronto, Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital affiliated to Harvard Medical School, etc. The results of keyword analysis showed that Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor (DPP-4i), SGLT2i, EMPA-REG OUTCOME study, glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA) and prediction on cardiovascular mortality were research hotpots. Conclusion The bibliometric analysis shows that research field of Sglt2i intervening HF is currently in a hot period. However, the quantity of published papers on SGLT2i intervening HF is not enough. It is necessary to continue to improve relevant studies and strengthen the cooperation among various countries and institutions. The research hotspots are updated quickly, and there are still great possibilities for developing the studies.
